[Infostock Daily=Reporter Lee Ji-sun] The CEO of Hyundai Heavy Industries, which had three to five deaths every year, blamed workers for serious workplace accidents. He was reprimanded for his comments by several Representatives.

"We can change the unsafe state (of the workplace) with investment, but (worker's) unstable behavior is quite difficult to change" said Han Young-seok, CEO of Hyundai Heavy Industries, at an industrial accident hearing at the National Assembly's Environment and Labor Committee on the 22nd.

"Hyundai Heavy Industries' workplace handles heavy items, so there are a lot of ad hoc work," CEO Han said. "Even though the company is trying to standardize the workplace task, there are many workers who still act erratically."

"Serious accidents occur when facility equipment, instability and management monitoring are malfunctioned," Rep. Chung Chul-min of the Democratic Party of Korea refuted Han's remarks, saying, "The worker fell by mistake could have saved if there was a safety net and safety helmet."?/p>

Rep. Lee Soo-jin of the same party also pointed out, "The CEO blames the workplace accident of the victim's erratic action. If the CEO has such view about the accidents, the company will not be from Disaster Punishment Act.".?/p>
